Passing Through

Ink on paper, 2024

A short film (just over 1 minute) interpreting the poem 'All in the Western Land' by a fictional character in Ursula K. Le Guin's 1985 speculative fiction book Always Coming Home. The film follows an unnamed character as she finds a field inside a burning house, where she takes part in a dance with a group of strangers. The fire burns in the distance, night falls, and all too quickly she finds herself alone again.

Reaper in the Thames

Ink on paper, 2023

A short looping animation responding to music and song-lyrics. I love making hand-drawn animations on small pieces of paper. It forces me to simplify imagery, and lets colour and composition take the lead in the storytelling.
